Tutor Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern the enrollment and participation of Tutors (“you”, “your”) on the Teachbit LMS platform (“Teachbit”, “we”, “our”). By enrolling as a Tutor on Teachbit, you agree to be bound by the following terms:

Introduction

Welcome to Teachbit, a decentralized live tech training platform built by Africans for Africans. By registering as a tutor/mentor, you agree to the following terms and conditions, which govern your engagement on the Teachbit platform.

1. Eligibility & Enrollment

  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this Agreement.
  • You are required to provide accurate personal, professional, and banking details during enrollment.
  • Teachbit reserves the right to approve or reject Tutor applications at its sole discretion.

2. Independent Tutor Status

  • Tutors are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Teachbit.
  • You are solely responsible for creating, uploading, and delivering course content.
  • You retain ownership of your content but grant Teachbit a non-exclusive license to host, display, and market it on the platform.

3. Revenue Sharing & Payment Structure

Earnings are based on student enrollments and shared as follows:

  • Tutors earn 75% of revenue from students they directly bring in [if a student enrolls via your unique Tutor referral link].
  • Tutors earn 60% of revenue from Teachbit-driven enrollments via Teachbit advertising and marketing [student enrolls via Teachbit’s ads, campaigns, or direct acquisition].

Teachbit will track enrollments through unique referral links and student registration data.

Payments will be made monthly to your nominated bank account, net of applicable taxes, payment processor fees, or legal deductions.

Teachbit may withhold payments for suspected fraud, disputes, or policy violations pending investigation.

4. Tutor Enrollment & Responsibilities

  • Tutors must provide accurate information during signup and complete KYC requirements.
  • Tutors are responsible for delivering live, instructor-led training sessions on agreed schedules.
  • Tutors are expected to maintain professionalism and adhere to Teachbit’s academic and community guidelines.
  • Tutors shall not use the platform to promote unrelated personal businesses or unauthorized content.
  • Ensure all course content is original, accurate, lawful, and non-infringing.
  • Maintain professional conduct during live sessions, webinars, and communications with students.
  • Update course materials regularly to reflect industry trends and learner needs.
  • Protect student privacy and comply with all data protection laws.

5. Platform Rules & Quality Standards

Teachbit may set minimum quality standards (video/audio quality, curriculum depth, interactivity, etc.) for courses.

Tutors may be removed from the platform for poor ratings, inactivity, or repeated violations.

Tutors must not engage in activities that harm Teachbit’s reputation, such as soliciting payments outside the platform.

6. Code of Conduct

  • Tutors must respect students, peers, and staff at all times.
  • Any discriminatory, offensive, or unprofessional conduct may result in suspension or termination.
  • Tutors shall not engage in direct solicitation of Teachbit learners outside the platform

7. Intellectual Property & Content Ownership

  • All content, including teaching materials, class recordings, slides, and related resources provided on the platform, shall be the sole property of Teachbit.
  • Tutors grant Teachbit exclusive rights to host, distribute, and repurpose their course content for student access, quality improvement, and promotional purposes.
  • Tutors may not republish, resell, or reuse materials delivered on Teachbit outside the platform without prior written consent.

8. Confidentiality & Data Use

  • You may access only necessary student information for teaching purposes.
  • You must not misuse, resell, or disclose student data outside the platform.

9. Termination & Suspension

  • Teachbit reserves the right to suspend or terminate tutors who breach these terms.
  • Tutors may also terminate their participation with 30 days written notice, but all developed content remains Teachbit’s property.

Teachbit may suspend or terminate your account immediately for:

  • - Breach of these Terms
  • - Low-quality delivery or misconduct
  • - Academic dishonesty or fraud

10. Limitation of Liability

Teachbit provides the platform “as is” and does not guarantee uninterrupted service.

Teachbit shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

11. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By enrolling as a Tutor, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

Student Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement Overview

This Agreement outlines the terms and conditions under which students (“Students”) access and participate in Teachbit LMS (“Teachbit”). By enrolling, Students agree to comply with these terms.

2. Enrollment and Access

Students must provide accurate and truthful information during registration. Access to courses is granted upon successful enrollment and payment (where applicable). Teachbit reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts in cases of fraud, misuse, or policy violations.

3. Course Content and Ownership

All course content, teaching materials, and platform resources are the property of Teachbit. Students are granted a non-transferable, limited license to access and use content solely for personal learning. Redistribution, resale, recording, or unauthorized sharing of course content is strictly prohibited.

4. Payments and Refunds

Course fees are payable via approved payment processors before access is granted. All payments are considered final. Refunds are only available under exceptional cases, subject to Teachbit’s discretion. All payments are processed after applicable tax deductions, where relevant.

5. Learning Experience

Courses are delivered primarily through live instructor-led virtual sessions. Students are expected to attend classes on time, actively participate, and complete assignments/projects. Teachbit does not guarantee employment but may provide internship and mentorship pathways through its partners.

6. Code of Conduct

Students must maintain professionalism and respect in all interactions with instructors, mentors, and peers. Disruptive behavior, harassment, or abuse will not be tolerated and may result in suspension or termination.

7. Certification

Upon successful completion of courses, projects, and assessments, Students may receive digital certification. Teachbit reserves the right to withhold certification if course requirements are not met.

8. Termination of Access

Teachbit may suspend or terminate a Student’s access for policy breaches, misconduct, or non-payment. Students may withdraw voluntarily, but fees paid remain non-refundable.

9. Liability Disclaimer

Teachbit provides training services but makes no guarantees of outcomes, employment, or income. Teachbit is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from use of the platform.

10. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
